I am happy to state that my Mother, (Joan Sonnenberg, age 99 this year) has been under the care of Liz Mullins and the personnel at Belmont Guests Retreat for the past three years. Mom has advanced dementia-Alzheimers, and needs special care. The cost is very reasonable compared to other facilities, which would not give such wonderful personal care. She was in other commercial facilities over the prior 10 years, none of which were satisfactory. We finally found the best place for her.
Liz has voluntarily provided personal full-time care, resulting in Mom staying happy and healthy. The home is a very pleasant environment. It is a family operation, both with the staff, and for benefit of the other residents as well. The nutrition is very good. They have resource as needed.
My brother and I (as Co-Conservators) would not even think having Mom move anywhere else. She deserves the best of care after raising her children almost single-handedly for all those years.
My mother has been residing at Belmont Guest Retreat since March 2017. As soon as we met Elizabeth and toured her group home we knew we had found the right place after looking for several weeks. It is clean and smells good on the inside with nice gardens and landscaping outside. Her residents are always well groomed with clean clothes. They always celebrate birthdays and holidays. There are always good fresh home cooked meals with a special diet for each resident. If there are any problems or issues we discuss them and work together to get them resolved. My mother has late stage Alzheimers but has stabilized at Belmont and at her last wellness check her Dr was impressed with her overall health as she gets ready to turn 99. She was off all medication after staying there less than a year. Ms Mullins is the most dedicated person I have ever met and she asks the same of her staff. I give Elizabeth and her facility the highest recommendation. She has added good quality years for my mother in a safe family style environment.
